Slippery Elm is considered Demulcent, Emollient, Nutritive, Astringent, Anti-tussive, and Vulnerary. It is rich in mucilage and therefore is indicated for sore and irritated throats, dry cough, irritable bowel, gastric disruption and duodenal ulcers. It can help diarrhea by soothing the intestinal tract while also acting as an astringent. Topically it can be made into a poultice for wounds, burns, and other skin issues. Take 30 drops in water or juice, 1 3 times daily, or as needed.
